One of the comments I hear often from parents is...
I've always wanted to coach a team, but nobody ever asked me!
Well I say, don't wait to be asked. Check with your committee or other club representative about teams that are still looking for coaches. Keep an eye on the website for advertisements requesting coaches and so on.
We need coaches for all age groups at one time or another and most of them started out with very little experience. In the younger age groups, coaching is very simple and easily picked up by a mum or dad. We provide free coaching courses for the "Grass Roots Certificate" - a simple course that qualifies you to coach the Under 7 age group.
For higher age groups, Casey Comets can assist you to obtain the relevant licenses and accreditation, and with a large number of qualified and experienced coaches working at the club, it's easy to get assistance or learn from your peers.
For coaches wanting to obtain coaching licenses, Casey Comets will reimburse half the cost of the license/course in your first year of coaching, and half the cost in the second year.
To acknowledge the hours, effort and overall contribution of the time our coaches put in, Casey Comets also offers all coaches $100 worth of "Casey Cash" vouchers. Casey Cash can be spent on all items at the club including registration fees, apparel, the canteen and bar.
