Casey Comets Academy (CCA)

We're excited to launch our Casey Comets Academy!

With Liam Wolstenholme from C4F engaged by the club to deliver and manage te Academy Program for our "A" competition teams.

Liam will take on the role of Casey Comets Academy Director, working closely with the club to oversee the Academy program and elp create a stronger overall pathway for playres at Casey Comets.

Are the Academy and Community teams both Casey Comets teams?

Yes. Both our Casey Comets Academy and Casey Comets Community teams are part of Casey Comets Football Club.


The Academy teams compete in the Football Victoria League, just like our Community teams. Both programs are proudly part of the Casey Comets family and provide players with opportunities to develop, compete and enjoy their football at different skill levels.


Both pathways are an important part of Casey Comets, and players in both programs represent the club with pride. 💙💛⚽

What is the Academy difference?

The main difference is the level of competition, coaching/training structure, intensity and commitment that Liam and his team will deliver.

Our Academy program is designed for players looking for a higher-level developmental program. Academy teams compete in the Football Victoria Academy competition in the A Grade, with a greater focus on player development, higher-level competition and increased training commitment.

At Casey Comets, every program is coached to the same high standard. The difference is the level of intensity and challenge — never how much your child is supported, valued or cared for.

Our development pathways provide different opportunities for players:

  • Casey Comets Academy – Places are offered through our September trial window.
  • Casey Comets Breakthrough – Players enter through the same trial process, with places then offered by invitation based on a higher selection standard.

You’ll See The Progress. Not Just Hear About It.  
A written report comes home twice a year, so you always know where your child actually stands. Matches are filmed throughout the season, and players review their own decisions on screen, not just told about them after the fact.

One Curriculum. Every Age. Every Position.

Team Principles: How the team moves and plays together. 

Position-Specific Training: Fortnightly work for defenders, midfielders, attackers and keepers on the technical and tactical demands specific to their role. 

Technical Excellence: Dedicated ball mastery, first touch, passing and finishing, isolated from tactical pressure so players can groove technique.  

Match Preparation: Translating training into how a player actually performs on the day. 

Weekly Rhythm: U7–U9 train twice a week, U10 and up train three times a week, plus a weekend match for every age group through the FV competition season.
